The church
The Church is described in many ways in the New Testament. The reason
for this is because there is no one thing we can compare it to — there
is nothing in human society like the church. It is a body, but not
an organisation. It consists of all the believers through all time
throughout the world, but it exists in local fellowships. Every believer
is part of the church, and every believer should belong to a local
church to meet regularly with other believers. These local churches
exist in all kinds of forms, because God has given freedom to the church
in many areas. This is the pattern of church life in the New Testament:
