1 Trust & Obey

When you gave your life to Jesus, you asked Him to forgive you of all your sin, and you asked Him to be your King.
Becoming a Christian, then, was about trusting and obeying.

God can be trusted

1 John 1:8–9
• for forgiveness of all sin
1 John 5:13–15
• for eternal life
• for our daily needs

We should trust

Ephesians 2:8-9
• saved by grace (God’s good will) through faith
Hebrews 11:6
• faith is what pleases God

We should obey

John 14:23-24
• because we love Him
James 1:22
• faith without obedience isn’t faith at all
2 Peter 1:5
• because it’s the way to grow in Christ
1 Peter 1:16
• because God is holy
