Greenfingers Garden Project

The Greenfingers garden project, led by Mrs E C McGhie-Belgrave MBE and David Lawton was started in 2003, and is now in its third year.

The aim of the project was to introduce city children to gardening and horticulture, to get them involved with the soil, to teach them about healthy eating and healthy living and to help them understand something of God's creation.

The project leaned heavily on the learning done through the Uplands Allotment Project in Handsworth, organised by Shades of Black.

Estelle Morris, then Yardley MP and a government minister, visited the project in 2004.
