Accessibility

Everyone is welcome at Stechford Baptist Church, and we will do everything we can to overcome particular barriers to worship and being part of the community.

Mobility impairments

We have installed a ramp at the northern entrance to the church, with a specially adapted door, along with a disabled-access toilet. The arrangements have been inspected by Birmingham City Council, who assisted in funding them.

Visual impairments

We have Bibles, Hymn Books and Song Books available in large print.

Hearing impairments

Based on requests from hearing impaired worshippers over a number of years, we use a straight amplification system rather than a loop. We are happy to install a loop system if people prefer it.

British Sign Language

Some of our members have skills in BSL.

Literacy issues

We can provide support for people facing literacy issues.

Stechford Baptist is also a dyslexia-friendly place!

Learning Disabilities

People with Learning Disabilities are always welcome at Stechford Baptist.

Language Barriers

Asylum seekers, international visitors and local community people who don't feel comfortable in English are very welcome.

We can usually provide interpreting into Bengali and Hindi without prior notice.

If you have other language needs, please let us know and we will find interpreting.
