Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms and Dedications
Stechford Baptist is a registered building for weddings, and over the years many of our members have got married here. If you would like to be married at Stechford Baptist Church, please come along to one of our services and talk with one of the deacons afterwards.
Like most churches, we also conduct funerals. These are usually for people who have attended the church, but if you know that a loved-one would have wanted to have a Baptist funeral, we would be very happy to arrange things for you. We can also advise on undertakers in Birmingham, and other details.
As a Baptist church, we don't baptise or 'christen' new born babies. Instead, we follow the same practice as Jesus's family — we bring infants to be dedicated in the church. This is a ceremony which involves the family, the witnesses, and the church committing to bring the child up together in godliness and the knowledge of the Gospel.
As with all these things, come and talk to us after one of our services to arrange infant dedication.

As a Baptist church, we believe in adult believer's baptism. This means that we baptise people who for themselves have chosen to follow Jesus Christ. If you would like to be baptised, come and talk to us.
